I wonder if Birdy and Gomez will actually team up in the upcoming chapters? This chapter seems to indicate that a temporary alliance might be struck O:!
Gomez has always been one of the more “interesting” character in this series with an ambiguous agenda, so I’d love to see some more panels devoted for his character development.
Camera, lights, and action! Chapter 149 promises to be full of revelations all around (:!
Oh, I was being a dunce and disabled commenting on the Hakubo no Chronicle post by accident, so if anyone had feedback but was unable to express it, I’ve enabled commenting so feel free to retroactively comment on it.
And we’re back with yet another chapter of Birdy’s Adventures (:!
Font votes: The result was pretty clear. Anime Ace won 3 to 1 versus Basic Comical, so Anime Ace it is.
Good news: @Benhbell volunteered to help with cleaning future chapters, which should help with speeding up future releases slightly.
I noticed a difference between Ronin’s and my translation, but it was too minor to bother writing up a Translation Note page. I’ll just relay it here: Ronin romanized “真僕会病院” incorrectly as “Shinbokkai Hospital”, whereas it’s more correctly romanized as “Shinbokukai” (notice the extra u between the k‘s). It’s minor enough that most reader won’t notice the difference, but I thought I’d point it out that it’s intentional, and not a typo on my part.
Without further ado, Chapter 146: Moonlit Knight #4
Second: I haven’t forgotten my desire to translate the original Tetsuwan Birdy manga chapters. I have parts of the first chapter translated, but still lots of editing (there are more pages per chapter in the original series than the remake, which means more editing/processing–and since it takes longer to edit than to actually translate… Well, you guys get the idea). I’ll likely return to it after a few more chapters of the Moonlit Knight arc (it’s getting too interesting to stop midway!).
Ahem, with the obligatory chore stuff out of the way, here’s chapter 145 (:!
Since this translation was roused from its 20-month hiatus-slumber, I went through it with a fine-toothed comb and re-edited literally every single page. The two biggest visible changes to you–my dear readers–would be the increased font size throughout the chapter as well as the much improved sfx overlay redraws (you’ll see what I mean when you read it (;).
Update Jan 27, 2015: I didn’t realize that Page 005 was missing in the previous upload, so it’s now fixed in version 2. Sorry about that ):! Both the ZIP and CBZ links to v2 of the chapter.
Here we go! The first chapter of a brand new volume (:! I’m super excited, since the story is starting to pick back up after that long detour into Birdy’s past.
To new readers or those that haven’t read my previous updates, next week I’ll be posting the translation for Chapter 4 of Tetsuwan Birdy (Original).
Without further ado, Volume 14, Chapter 143: Moonlit Knight #1
